Assistant Manager (Design)

Major Duties:
(a)  To assist in leading and managing design projects of Hong Kong Design Institute and Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Lee Wai Lee) (DILWL) with high quality standard and in a timely manner;
(b)  To provide creative direction, production supervision and installation inspection for branding communication materials of DILWL;
(c)  To generate creative concepts, design layouts and production artwork for printed matters, advertisements, environmental graphics and online / digital platforms (e.g. web pages, social media, mobile apps, HTML5 banners, etc.);
(d)  To work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including other operational units of the Council and vendors / contractors, in the aforementioned design projects and others;
(e)  To assist in overseeing DILWL brand management, including but not limited to reviewing DILWL brand application on all touchpoints, handling brand-related enquiries from other operational units, updating brand guidelines where necessary, and ensuring full compliance with DILWL brand identity guidelines;
(f )  To handle design-related administrative duties including but not limited to design-related procurement and publicity space booking; and
(g)  To perform simple photo-shooting and/or filming of campus events for archival purpose.
(a)  A recognised degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications or related discipline;
(b)  At least 3 years’ relevant work experience in branding consultancies, advertising agencies, graphic design firms or related companies, preferably at supervisory level in sizable organisation;
(c)  Able to work across all online and offline channels with good knowledge in digital communication and social networking channels;
(d)  A strong sense of design and aesthetics with ability to conceptualise ideas and visualise on online and offline applications;
(e)  Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and well-versed in Macintosh (Mac) platform, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, preferably with knowledge in web-based and mobile apps software;
(f )  Creative, multi-tasking and detail-oriented with good time management skills;
(g)  Able to work independently and an excellent team player with good interpersonal and communication skills;
(h)  Candidates with experience in copywriting and/or portfolio of design works from multi-national organisations would be an advantage; and
(i )  Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.

(2)  Shortlisted candidates will be required to take a written assessment in English and present their job portfolio at the interview.
(3)  The appointee(s) may be required to perform duties outside normal office hours and/or outside campus.
